アップル、９月９日にイベント？

Ars Technicaでは、

Kevin Rose氏が、アップルは９月９日にイベントを開催し、新しい「iPod nano」、よりお安くなる「iPod touch」、「Tunes 8」が発表されるだろうと語っていると伝えています。

Kevin Rose is teasing Apple fans again. Just a day after blogging about an Apple Event for new iPod nanos, a less expensive iPod touch, and iTunes 8, he has now set a date. Apple Gazette points to an appearance by Rose on This Week in Tech, in which he says that "this is all going to happen September 9th."

また、Mac Rumorsで新しい「iPod nano」のケースの写真が公開されていることから、リークされた新しい「iPod nano」"stick" nanoの画像がだんだん現実味を帯びてきたとも伝えています。

Whether Rose is also guessing about the "stick" nano, it appears the new design is increasingly likely. MacRumors recently posted images of cases from obscure Chinese web sites, a bizarre and yet often accurate confirmation of new products.

また、例年は８月はMac、９月はiPodのイベントが開催されてきたが、今年はインテルのCentrino 2の遅れなどもあり、例年通りいかなく、９月がiPodだけのイベントだとすると、新学期シーズンを逃しちゃうね、的なことも伝えられています。

While at least one analyst is expecting a joint event, in the past few years, September has been reserved for iPods, while August is for the Mac. This year, Intel's delay of Centrino 2 made that impossible. If an iPod-only event is held on September 9, the long-overdue update of Mac portables would likely be pushed back at least two weeks, if not longer. Introducing the hotly-rumored and redesigned MacBook in October would mean missing out on late-starting college students in September. If ever there was a year for an Apple Super Event in September for Macs and iPods, 2008 would be it.

MacとiPod両方のスーパースペシャルイベントに期待しましょう！？

・iPod touchは若干のデザイン変更、iPod nanoは大幅にデザインが変更
・iPodシリーズは大幅に値下げされ、199ドルのiPhoneとの価格差を縮める
・iPod touchはバージョン2.1のソフトウェアを搭載、iPhoneのアップデートは後日近いうちにリリース
・iTunes 8.0（新機能を搭載した大幅なアップデート）
・これらは2～3週間以内に登場
・Mac OS X 10.5.6においてBlu-rayをサポート

掲載されている写真が本物だとすると、
ワイドスクリーンっぽいですが、センサーで縦横切り替わるってことでしょうか。
ただ、さすがにクリックホイールは横にはならないでしょうから、操作しにくいんじゃないでしょうか。
